A Perfect Circle Release Haunting New Song, Announce First Album In Fourteen Years @ARTISTdirect

A Perfect Circle's last album release came on Election Day in 2004, when George W. Bush earned his second term as President of the United States. The band followed that polarizing album, eMOTIVe, with an extended hiatus before reforming in 2010 and performing just a couple of series of shows over the last few years.
Now, in today's troubling political landscape, A Perfect Circle have released a new track called "The Doomed". The dark title is for a dark song, and the promise of an album that aims to shed light on a confused world where good and bad seem to have lost all signification. The album is due out early next year, with this release just days in advance of an extensive North American tour which spans the next couple of months.
Of the band's outlook, frontman Maynard James Keenan said in a press release, "Fourteen years have passed since we released eMOTIVe. A new release is long overdue. In light of this current difficult and polarized social, spiritual and political climate, we artist types need to open our big mouths and share the light a little louder."
